parent and child reading a book

Reading books is a great way to bridge literacy and math. Not only does it provide an opportunity to extend math learning at school and home, it can help children and their families develop a love of math. Research shows reading books can motivate children to think and reason about math; promote critical thinking skills, and connect math ideas to their everyday lives.
